Morpheus Music
Morpheus Music - United Kingdom
[..] The tracks on Lifegiving are mainly synthesizer soundscapes overlaid with emotionally inspired lead lines. Restful downtempo beats and gentle basses carry the various smooth layers and washes along whilst piano, violin, guitar or flute voices weave comfortable melodies in the foreground. [..] There are classical and orchestral moments that add to the dignity of Australis' sound and frequent low-key interludes where percussion vaporises and melody becomes increasingly gentle and intimate. [..] Vistas of the imagination, twilight mysteries "emotional landscapes" - Oscar likes his music to reach the heart, touch the emotions. An album gentle on the ear with one or two uptempo excursions, but in the main easy beats and pleasing leads that will sooth a stressful day or invite the rested mind to explore landscapes that are beautiful and emotive.

Amazing Sounds - Spain
"Lifegiving" is an album charged with good sonic vibrations, epic in some moments, calm and simple in others, yet always full of shades that cannot leave anyone indifferent. Most of the pieces can be labeled within the New Instrumental Melodic Music, although they also have Techno and Ambient characteristics. Beautiful melodies, perfectly intertwined, follow one another without ups and downs.

[..] The ten tracks on this debut album will give you a full 45 minutes of listening pleasure. Think of Klaus Doldinger's "Constellation", the early works of Yanni, but also the groove of Patrick O'Hearn. The track "Turning Point" even has a touch of the gradiose sound of Amin Bhatia, while the track "Enchantment" can be compared to Amethystium. Other pieces show the sweet influence of Enya and with other tracks you can hum along like with Enigma. Beautiful melodies, a crystal-clear production [..] The deep bass sounds and the well-balanced percussion with a slight South American accent make this disc a pleasure to listen to [..] In short: an excellent release which is a pleasure to listen to on the interface between 'symfo' and electronic music.

Galactic Voyager - KCSN 88.5 FM - United States
As host of Galactic Voyager, a program devoted to playing innovative electronic, new age, and ambient music, I was really impressed with Australis' debut relase 'Lifegiving'. My favorite composition is Turning Point, but the album presents a host of excellent pieces that I play regularly on-board Galactic Voyager on KCSN. If you are a fan of the above genres of music you should give Australis' music a listen.

[..] Music highly listenable from the start, filled with catchy refrains and infectious rhythms. [..] That's what impressed me to no end with Lifegiving as well as Australis being a first-time artist. This album just overflows with imaginative wrinkles on subgenres that some may consider played out, reinvigorating them with exciting musical cross-pollination. [..] All this stuff works! Oh my, does it work. Do yourself a favor and make sure your first playing of this album is on headphones. Australis produced and engineered the recording by himself and it's slick and professional. I'm impressed, to say the least. [..] I'll give the artist credit for refusing to be conventional! [..] Surely it's one of the best "home-grown" recordings in the last two or three years. [..] I highly recommend the CD.
